Have you ever gone to an event not knowing what to expect? The days prior bring up questions of concern or doubt about whether or not it will be a huge waste of time. From the looks of Kaktus Festival this is not the case. I’m actually disappointed that this is the first year I am really hearing about the festival.
In its 5th year, Kaktus is bringing together top marketing and communications professionals, leaders in innovative practices, and mentors from the former Yugoslavia to impact thousands of young professionals and youth to increase capacity and skills.
From the lineup of apeakers and activities on the agenda, Kaktus 2019 promises to deliver an abundance of rich content and practical pieces that will combine for a memorable event. Under the slogan “Make Room For A New Bloom” Kaktus is adding Innovation Day and Day of Talent combining two powerful topics innovation and the development of talent especially among a younger generation.
Innovation Day – Powered by Mars
On the first day of the festival, October 29, at the Madlenianum Opera & Theater, Marketing Mreža (Marketing Network) will organize mentoring and education programs for startups from the region of Southeast Europe (Serbia, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Montenegro, Northern Macedonia, Romania and Albania ). The program will cover startups from the MarTech, Gaming and FinTech industries, in all stages of development.
The goal of Innovation Day is to work on improving the environment for startups and supporting business development in Serbia and worldwide.
Education and mentoring sessions for all interested startups are free. If you are interested, applications will take another three days, ie. until October 20, and you can fill out the application form here.
Day of Talent – Powered by Mastercard
On the second day of the festival, in cooperation with Mastercard, the Marketing Mreža is organizing a young talent competition. The goal of this competition is to promote the development of creative industries with a focus on young people and to show the professional public their potential. In addition, the work and ideas that will be created within the competition will be donated to a social enterprise or association to which the contestants were tasked to respond. Festival program – Kaktus Stage
On the first day of the festival, leaders and marketing experts from around the world will speak on the main stage. Speakers include: JEAN ZAMPROGNO (Creative Director, DAVID The Agency, Miami), REGAN WARNER (Creative Director, McCann, London), SKAISTE SRUOGAITE (Corporate Affairs Director Baltics, Balkans and Adriatic, MARS), MIHAI GONGU (Executive Creative Director Southeast Europe, Cheil Worldwide, Romania), GIORGIO CHIARAMONTE (Communication Director, Alkemy digital_enabler, Italy).
Follow along as we attend Q&A sessions and Creative talks. During the breaks we will summarize impressions as well as networking, of course. J
The second day of the main stage will feature speakers: IOANNA MINGOU (Director in Consumer Marketing, Mastercard Europe), KAROLINA GALÁCZ (Creative Director, DDB Budapest, Hungary), EMANUELE NENNA (Co-founder and CEO, The Big Now, Italy) and the speaker who will close this year's festival is EDUARDO MARQUES (Chief Creative Officer, Publicis Spain). In addition, we will attend a Creative talks session as well as a debate.
At the very end, there will be a Cocktail and a presentation of the publication, Adbook.
Marketing Mreža, with the support of the weekly Nedeljnik, is launching a special edition, a publication aimed at the creative industry in the Adriatic region, called Adbook. This year's edition of the publication will be published under the slogan “Advertising can change the world!”
It is a modern, exclusive publication of more than 150 pages, containing the highest quality author texts, interviews and analisis in all areas of integrated communications. Starting this year, Adbook will be out once a year, aiming to promote the profession, highlight talents and potential, as well as educate and advance the creative industry across the region. In addition, the publication will also have a humanitarian character and the money raised from the sale of a portion of the circulation will be donated to the NURDOR Association during the KAKTUS 2019 Festival.
